Can you identify this ring?

This ring belonged to my father and was probably acquired during the WWII time frame. He was not in the service and worked the entire war period in the Naval Shipyards at San Pedro. The ring was made in Mexico and is quite large and heavy. I believe it is made of a brass alloy.
